It was that time of the year again to explore another city we haven’t been to. If you don’t already know, In Tune With Two loves adventures, exploring and traveling. On April 21st, we packed up our bags and with two of our closest friends, flew off to sunny Los Angeles for a short vacation, or as we like to call it, “Slaycation.”
The excitement was real. For the first time ever, we didn’t go the usual way of staying in a hotel. We opted for the more trendy way and used Airbnb, a decision we were glad to have made.
We stayed in an apartment complex located in downtown L.A , right across the Los Angeles Convention Center, and just down the street from the Staples Center. It was beautiful, with a pool and a rooftop overseeing the city’s breathtaking skyline.
Before visiting our sweet Airbnb spot, we first picked up our rental car, a stylish 2016 white 4-door Jeep Wrangler. We thought this was the perfect car to roam the West Coast streets. It wasn’t long before we let the top down and soaked up the sunny state’s ambience.
After several exciting Snap Chat moments later, we started our L.A journey by grabbing a bite to eat at a Mediterranean restaurant called Panini Cafe, bought some groceries at Ralph’s, which was conveniently right across the street, and purchased tickets to see our first celebrity, Tyga, who was to make an appearance at OHM Nightclub.
The following day, we went to Santa Monica Pier, which had many beautiful views as well as attractions. We enjoyed ourselves and felt like kids again, indulging in some funnel cakes with strawberry toppings (calories overload) and riding the roller coaster to please our adrenaline needs.
Next, we went to Venice Beach, which to our surprise was not what we expected. We probably showed up on a bad day, considering how super windy it was, with sand flying everywhere and high amounts of weird characters swarming the boardwalk but overall, it was nice to have visited.
For the night life, we transformed into the “The Ladies in Red,” grasping attention from every corner as we strutted into the Playhouse Nightclub. The icing on the cake was meeting the beautiful actress and singer, Keke Palmer, in the ladies room who was a doll and allowed us to capture the moment with her.
The following day, we hiked up the Mt. Hollywood Hiking Trail, which was absolutely breathtaking (literally and long!) We enjoyed seeing the Griffith Observatory and Hollywood sign as well as driving past the houses on the hills (house goals!). All were sights worth seeing.
After a thigh-tightening workout, some would say grabbing an In and Out Burger is a bad idea but we did it anyways, enjoying every single bite of our double-double cheeseburger with animal fries, finished off with a delicious blend of strawberry milkshake.
Every night of our trip consisted of loud music, adult beverage indulgence, and ending up at a night scene where we could meet more celebrities and bask in the moment. Saturday night we got dolled up in all shades of pink, and visited The Federal night club in North Hollywood. It was a chill scene and as always, we were the center of attention.
Of course we couldn’t leave L.A without visiting the world famous Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. We acted silly and took pics with our favorite celebrities and walked up and down Hollywood Boulevard after purchasing some souvenirs.
Our last night in LA, consisted of eating at a popular restaurant, Nobu (The Kardashians eat here on #KUWTK ,and Future rapped about it in his song “Jumpman). To our surprise, we ran into music talent and mega producer Pharrell!
Pharrell was super nice and we appreciated him for taking the time out of his outing to take this picture. After several salmon, lobster and shrimp tempura sushi dishes later, we ended our last night at an Afro beat spot, which took us back to our African background.
We had the time of our lives in L.A. The traffic was horrible, but the weather and beautiful sights made up for it. It was a much needed vacation and we can not wait for our next trip!
Stay tuned to see what our next adventures will be!
